The Board of Regents of the University of New Mexico has approved the proposed board of directors for Innovate ABQ, Inc., a New Mexico nonprofit research park corporation.

A critical issue for the success of Innovate ABQ is how easily people can move between the University of New Mexico, the site at Broadway and Central and downtown Albuquerque.

STC.UNM, the University of New Mexico tech transfer and economic development organization, closed today on the property at Central and Broadway in downtown Albuquerque that will be the physical site for Innovate ABQ. 

The UNM Board of Regents authorized the acquisition of the old First Baptist Church property at Broadway and Central in a special meeting. Purchase of the property will give the economic development project an actual physical home.
