UNM School of Public Administration professor, Roli Varma, has been recognized by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) for her contributions to the organization.

The University of New Mexico School of Public Administration (SPA) announced the hiring of two new faculty members, Kate Cartwright and Shuyang Peng.

A study of spiral galaxies seen edge-on has revealed that the "halos" of cosmic rays and magnetic fields above and below the galaxies' disks are much more common than previously thought.

Associate Professor John Carr, of the University of New Mexico’s Department of Geography & Environmental Studies, has been awarded the University of Canterbury’s Visiting Erskine Fellowship for the spring of 2016.

For more than 20 years, the University of New Mexico has been a proud supporter of the United Way of Central New Mexico, raising millions of dollars since the campaign’s inception. The 2015 fundraising effort began Oct. 1 and will run through Nov. 19.

The private club for University of New Mexico employees now has a new name. Formerly known as the Faculty and Staff Club, it’s now called the University Club.  

The University of New Mexico School of Public Administration (SPA) has named Kun Huang as coordinator for its Master of Health Administration degree program.

Mohamed S. El-Genk, Regents’ Professor of Nuclear, Mechanical, and Chemical and Biological Engineering, has received the 2015 American Nuclear Society Thermal-Hydraulics Technical Achievement Award.  

Mark Peceny, dean of the University of New Mexico College of Arts and Sciences, recently appointed Phillip (Felipe) Gonzales as director of the School of Public Administration. Gonzales began his two-year term on Sept. 1.

Kathy Powers, professor in the Department of Political Science, and affiliated faculty with Africana Studies, was awarded the prestigious fellowship to study at the Woodrow Wilson Center over the summer. She also spent part of the summer teaching in Germany.
